Lachlan Olbrich was available for Sunday’s game against the Mavericks after shedding his probable tag and suiting up in Chicago’s regular-season finale.
The availability capped a steady stretch for Olbrich, who started Friday’s loss to the Magic and had logged double-digit minutes in six straight outings. Over that six-game stretch, he averaged 5.3 points, 6.3 rebounds and 2.2 assists in 19.0 minutes per game.
Chicago’s regular-season finale gave the team one last chance to use Olbrich after he had been listed as probable. His recent role had already expanded, with the six-game run showing consistent time on the floor and production across points, rebounds and assists.

The remaining question is how Chicago chooses to carry that usage forward after the finale. Olbrich’s last six games suggested a player who had moved beyond spot duty and into a more reliable rotation role, and Friday’s start confirmed the staff was willing to lean on him when it mattered.
