Duke is set to host Kansas transfer Flory Bidunga on Sunday, April 12, 2026, in a visit that could help shape one of the top frontcourt recruitments of the spring. Bidunga will meet with the Blue Devils after previously visiting Louisville on April 10, with Michigan and St. John’s also in the mix.

The 7-foot-2 forward had heavily considered Duke before committing to Kansas in 2023, and the program is back in the hunt as it looks for frontcourt answers while waiting on Patrick Ngongba II. The timing matters because Bidunga has announced he will enter both the NBA Draft and the transfer portal, giving him a chance to test professional interest while also comparing NIL offers from a potential new school.

That balance is what makes his next decision unusually complicated. Bidunga’s sophomore season at Kansas gave him a strong case on both sides of the equation: he started 34 of 35 games and averaged 13.3 points, 9.0 rebounds and 2.6 blocks per game. NBA teams can weigh that production against his size and rim protection, while college programs can pitch immediate minutes and financial packages.

His visit to Duke comes after recruiting momentum picked up around the country. Michigan is expected to lose Yaxel Lendeborg and could also be without Aday Mara and Morez Johnson Jr., leaving the Wolverines with a need up front. Louisville is trying to replace starting big Ali Khalifa. St. John’s is looking to fill the void left by Big East Player of the Year Zuby Ejiofor.

For Duke, the appeal is both familiar and practical. Bidunga once gave the program serious consideration before choosing Kansas, and this time the Blue Devils are back in the conversation with a real roster need and a visit on the calendar. The next step is not a mystery: he will get through the Duke meeting on Sunday, then continue weighing how much NBA interest comes his way against what the transfer market can offer.

That leaves Bidunga with a decision that could move quickly if the draft feedback is weak, or stretch longer if professional teams show real conviction. Either way, the first answer arrives on Sunday, when Duke gets its chance to make the case in person.
