A player from Soperton claimed a $1 million top prize in the Georgia Lottery's Millionaire Maker scratch-off game on Tuesday, taking home the game's biggest prize after buying the winning ticket at the Flash Foods gas station in Wrightsville, Johnson County.
The winner's identity was not disclosed. The Georgia Lottery also said a Central Georgia player won $10,000, a Byron resident won $10,000 playing the Max Treasure's Ancient Adventures Diggi Game on the lottery website, another player won $100,000 playing the Wheel of Bonuses Diggi Game online, and a separate player bought a $100,000 Georgia FIVE ticket from a RaceTrac in Marietta.
The wins come as the ga lottery continues to fund education programs in the state, including the HOPE Scholarship program. That means the scratch-off prize claimed on Tuesday was not just a personal windfall for one unidentified player from Soperton, but part of a broader stream of lottery revenue that supports classrooms and college aid across Georgia.
The only real gap left in the headline win is the person behind it. The prize has been claimed, the ticket was bought in Johnson County, and the lottery has already pointed to the public purpose of its games. What remains private is the winner's name, and the Georgia Lottery has not disclosed it.
