The Buffalo Bandits clinched a playoff spot Saturday with a 15-5 win over the Vancouver Warriors at KeyBank Center, extending their current surge and keeping their grip on one of the NLL's top spots. Buffalo has now earned six consecutive playoff berths.
The victory also pushed the Bandits' winning streak to six games, a run that began Feb. 27 with a win over the Saskatchewan Rush and lifted their record from 4-6 to 10-6. They have now made the NLL Finals in each of their last five playoff seasons and won championships in each of the last three years, putting them within reach of becoming the first team in league history to win four straight titles.
That chase still has real consequences in the standings. Buffalo has a chance to host a first-round playoff game in Banditland, with ticket information for any potential home date to be announced later. The team also has two home games left, beginning with Rochester on April 11 for Fan Appreciation Night before a road game against Oshawa on April 18.
The Bandits have turned a midseason wobble into a familiar spring position: already in the postseason and still playing for home floor and history. Saturday's result made sure the rest of the league will have to go through Buffalo again.
