Federal inspectors issued a public health alert in 2026 for beef and pork products sold in four states after finding sesame oil had been used in the items but not listed on the label. The alert covers products shipped to retail locations in New Jersey, Florida, Maryland and Virginia.

The products include 1.5-pound clear plastic containers with safety lids holding Marinated Beef Ribeye Roll/Bulgogi, Marinated Pork Tenderized CT Butt, Marinated Beef Sliced Short Ribs/LA Style and MRN Pork Single Belly Chop/Jumulleok. The sell-by dates on the affected items run from Dec. 11, 2025, through April 16, 2026.

The said sesame was not listed as an ingredient on the label, creating a risk for people with sesame allergies. The issue matters now because the affected products are still within their sell-by window, meaning they may still be in home refrigerators or store cases in the days after the alert.

Consumers are being told to throw away the affected products or return them to the place of purchase. The alert lands against the backdrop of retail food safety checks tied to Lotte Plaza Market locations, and it centers on an undeclared ingredient in both beef and pork products, not a broader recall of all meat sold under the brand.

The question now is not whether the products were mislabeled; federal inspectors have already said they were. It is how quickly shoppers who bought them in the four states will see the warning and clear the items from their kitchens before someone with a sesame allergy eats them.
