added its second player from the 2026 transfer portal on Friday when guard committed to the Bearcats. Colvin has one season of eligibility left and arrives after a year in which he started 24 of 35 games for the Demon Deacons.

Colvin, who began his college career at , finished second on Wake Forest in scoring at 11.6 points per game while adding 4.4 rebounds, 1.4 assists and 1.2 steals per game. He shot 40.3% from the floor and 36% on outside shots, production that made him a four-star transfer prospect, ranked 82nd overall and 11th among small forwards by 247Sports.

The fit matters because Cincinnati is still in the middle of building Jerrod Calhoun's first roster. Colvin also gives the Bearcats another perimeter option; he is listed as the team's only guard on the roster as of the article's writing and can play between shooting guard and small forward. He joins as the program's two additions so far.

Calhoun had already pointed to the kind of schedule the Bearcats are preparing for. Last Friday, he said Cincinnati would be in Orlando for Thanksgiving for the 2026 Orlando Events Invitational and noted the team has six non-conference games that are, in his words, “all really, really good games.” He said those matchups include Xavier, Clemson, Dayton and Louisville, a run that will test a roster still taking shape around portal additions like Colvin.

That leaves Cincinnati with a clear task and not much time: keep adding pieces that can hold up in a schedule built to punish mistakes. Colvin's arrival is a start, but the next moves will tell whether the Bearcats have enough balance before those November games arrive.
