The Blue Angels will headline the Cocoa Beach Air Show this weekend, returning to Florida’s Space Coast for the first time since 2008. The Navy’s demonstration team will fly over Cocoa Beach on Saturday and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The team will perform tight aerial formations just feet apart, a sight that is expected to draw large crowds along the shoreline. One Blue Angels pilot said the team is excited to return to the region after a long absence.
The Blue Angels are the U.S. Navy’s demonstration team, and organizers are warning of heavy traffic along A1A and State Road 520 during the event. Free viewing will be available along the beach, but Saturday tickets for Sand Boxes, Flight Line Club and Drop Zone Beach are already sold out.
That makes the shoreline the best option for most spectators, while the sold-out premium areas and road congestion point to one clear reality: the Cocoa Beach Air Show is likely to be packed from start to finish.
