The Social Security Administration is set to send April 2026 benefits next Wednesday, April 15, to a specific group of recipients across the United States. The payment is the penultimate one on the agency’s April schedule.
That check goes to beneficiaries born from the 11th to the 20th of any month. For people claiming on someone else’s work record, the agency uses that worker’s date of birth instead. Millions of Social Security recipients are due to be paid in April 2026, part of a system that covers most of the 70.9 million people who receive Social Security in the United States.
The calendar matters because the timing is fixed by birth date for most beneficiaries. Social Security recipients are generally paid on the second, third or fourth Wednesday of each month, while people who began claiming before May 1997 are paid on the third of each month. Americans who receive both Social Security and Supplemental Security Income get Social Security on the third, with SSI sent out on the first.

The schedule leaves one remaining April payment after Wednesday’s run, and that makes April 15 the key date for people in the middle birth-date group. Beneficiaries who need to change direct-deposit information can do so through the SSA’s online my Social Security portal, and those without a bank account can receive benefits on the Direct Express Card, the special debit card used for federal disbursements. The agency also says beneficiaries can get help by calling 1-800-333-1795 or 1-800-772-1213.

For recipients, the answer is simple: if your birthday falls between the 11th and 20th, or if you are paid on another person’s record tied to that range, the next Social Security check is due Wednesday, April 15. Everyone else on the April schedule is still in line, but not on that date.
