The men’s basketball transfer portal is open, and Iowa still has not made a signing in the early stretch of the window. With more than 1,500 players already in the portal, the Hawkeyes are looking for answers fast, and one name drawing reported interest is Butler transfer guard Finley Bizjack.
That matters because Ben McCollum and company need a replacement for Bennett Stirtz, and Bizjack brings a profile that fits the search. He shot 42.8 percent from beyond the arc during the 2024-2025 season, and his scoring has climbed every year, including a seven-point jump from 10 to 17.
Iowa’s urgency comes with context. The Hawkeyes reached the Elite 8 in McCollum’s first year at the helm, which raised the bar for what comes next. Now the staff has to restock while the portal remains crowded and the best fits are already being identified.
Bizjack is not the only player linked to the Hawkeyes. Transfer center Andrew McKeever, a 7-foot-3 presence, has also been popping up in rumors tied to Iowa, and his appeal is more straightforward: interior defending and rebounding. For a team trying to keep its momentum, that kind of size can change how a roster looks on both ends.
The tension for Iowa is simple. The portal is moving, the list of available players is large, and the program has yet to land a signing while rivals can move quickly. If the Hawkeyes are going to build on last season’s run, the next move in the portal may matter as much as anything that happened on the floor.
