“We had another boy a couple of weeks ago, and, yeah, it's been really nice and fun,” Scheffler said. He added, “I'm getting plenty of sleep.”

Scheffler said Meredith brought the boys with her to Augusta National for the week, and he described his wife as “a trooper.” He also said that with a newborn, the days run together a little, but that Remy is still so young he sleeps much of the day. Asked about the name, Scheffler said Meredith liked the “i,” “e” or “y” ending and that Remy was simply a name they liked, with no real significance to it.

The family news comes as Scheffler tries to settle back into tournament mode after missing the Texas Children’s Houston Open because of family reasons ahead of Remy’s birth. He has not played competitively since THE PLAYERS Championship, where he finished tied for 22nd.

He then finished outside the top 10 at The Genesis Invitational, ending a modern-era record run of 18 consecutive top-10 finishes. For Scheffler, the Masters this week is both a title defense of sorts and a return to the game’s biggest stage with a newborn now folded into the routine.

The tournament will test whether Augusta can wait on a champion whose focus has already been split by something far more personal than golf.
