He said people questioning him were either not watching closely or had an agenda, said they do not like him playing and suggested they were jealous of the success he has had. That is the tension in Thursday's game. Shami is in early-season rhythm and has made a habit of striking before the innings settles, while Rahane is being asked to answer criticism by batting in the one place where Shami does most of his damage.
