Alex Morgan says she is pregnant with her third baby and expects the child this fall. The former U.S. soccer star shared the news on May 10 in a Mother’s Day post that she said made the holiday “extra special” this year.
The announcement came with a video of Morgan, Servando Carrasco and their children, Charlie and Enzo, walking together on a beach. Morgan, 36, turned to show her baby bump, and her daughter kissed it before she and Carrasco shared a kiss and the family hugged at sunset.
Morgan and Carrasco married in 2014 and already share Charlie, 6, and Enzo, 14 months. Their latest post drew quick reactions from across the women’s soccer world, including a comment from the National Women’s Soccer League that Charlie and Enzo will be “the best siblings,” along with congratulations from Ali Kreiger, Mallory Swanson and Allyson Felix.
The new pregnancy lands less than a year after Morgan announced her retirement from professional soccer in 2024, a decision she made alongside the news that she was expecting Enzo. Over a 14-year career, she helped the USWNT win two FIFA World Cups and later said she felt she was leaving women’s soccer in “an amazing place.”
Morgan has also used her platform to push for better support for athletes who are mothers. After Charlie was born in 2020, she said becoming a mother was “basically a blank slate” that gave her “the opportunity to make an impact and push for change,” and she said it made her think about athletes who came before her with even less support. For Morgan, the personal news and the public message have long been linked: family life has been part of the story, but so has the fight to make the path easier for the next generation.
Now she is preparing for a third child while remaining one of the most recognizable figures in U.S. women’s soccer.
