graduated from high school on Saturday, receiving his diploma from with family and friends around him as a school official read out a string of honors and scholarships. The announcer listed Gold Eagle, Academic Honors, , Academic Honors, Achievement Scholars and Student Recognition Scholarship.

Tameka “Tiny” Harris marked the moment on social media, writing that her youngest son graduated with honors from Woodward Academy and noting that all 288 graduates earned scholarships. She said would have been overjoyed to see Major walk across the stage with honors, adding that the family was celebrating his future.

The graduation capped a school year in which Major also explored theater and took part in several stage productions. That detail fits with what Tiny said earlier this year, when she wrote that he had only recently started performing and stunned her on stage. “He’s such a natural,” she said after watching him sing eight songs and carry himself with a confidence she had not seen before.

What makes Saturday stand out is that Major’s path now points in two directions at once. He is leaving Woodward Academy with honors and a list of scholarships, and in the fall he is headed to Savannah College of Art and Design. For a family tribute built around pride and remembrance, the answer to the question it raised is plain: this was not just a graduation, but the moment the youngest Harris son stepped into his next act.
