A crash between a car and a motorcycle in Delta, British Columbia, left the motorcycle suspended from a traffic light pole by its front wheel on Saturday afternoon.
The collision happened around 3 p.m., and video from the scene showed the motorcycle hanging off the pole after the impact. Delta Police Department said speed is believed to have been a factor in the crash.
The motorcyclist suffered serious but non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to hospital. The driver of the car was not injured.
Delta is in Metro Vancouver, and police said speed was believed to have contributed to the crash. The scene and the injuries pointed to a violent impact, but the driver walked away without harm.
The question now is not whether the crash was severe. It was. The key point for anyone watching the case is that police have already identified speed as a likely factor, which may shape the next stage of the investigation.
