Chivas are into the Clausura 2026 semifinals after eliminating Tigres, and they will meet Cruz Azul in the next round. The first leg of the series is expected to be played midweek, with Cruz Azul set to host at either Estadio Azteca or Estadio Cuauhtémoc.
The decisive second leg will be played on the weekend at Estadio Jalisco, and the dates and kickoff times for the series will be confirmed next Monday. For Chivas fans, the club also set the ticket plan for the home leg: the Chivabono presale runs from Sunday, May 10 at 9:30 PM to Tuesday, May 12 at 5:00 PM through the Boletomóvil website and app, while general sale begins Tuesday, May 12 at 6:30 PM on the same platforms. Box holders at Estadio AKRON and Chivabono holders will receive further instructions by email.
The matchup gives the semifinal a familiar edge. This will be the fifth time Chivas face La Máquina in the Liguilla of short tournaments, with the clubs meeting three times in the quarterfinals in AP25, AP06 and INV98, and once more in the Reclassification stage in CL03.
The only uncertainty left is the stage for the opening leg, which has not been fixed between Mexico City and Puebla. That detail will matter as soon as next Monday's confirmation locks in the full schedule for a series that already carries the weight of history and the pressure of a place in the final.
