Seattle Reign FC returns to Lumen Field on Sunday, May 10, to host the Washington Spirit in the club’s Mother’s Day match, presented by Paula’s Choice Skincare. The game opens a two-match homestand after Seattle played Houston on Friday and came away with a 0-0 draw.
The afternoon will come with more than a matchup on the field. The concourse will feature a Mother’s Day Experience presented by Paula’s Choice, where fans can build a custom blossom bouquet at a flower bar, make a card, and pick up a Paula’s Choice Cellular Youth Longevity Serum sample. A flower-themed photo opportunity is also planned, while the North Plaza will host a live DJ and food trucks and the east concourse will have face paint and poster-making.
The timing gives Seattle fans a narrow window before the schedule thins out. There are only two chances left to see the Reign in Seattle before July, and the NWSL season will pause in June. Sunday’s forecast calls for sun and 72 degrees, a setting that should fit a match built around spring and a packed game-day atmosphere.
The Reign and Spirit have been going head-to-head since the league was founded, and this one also carries familiar names for U.S. national team followers. Seattle’s roster includes Emeri Adames, Ainsley McCammon and Maddie Dahlien, while Washington’s attack features Leicy Santos and Sofia Cantore. Claudia Dickey and Trinity Rodman also routinely appear together for the United States Women’s National Team, adding another layer to a matchup that has long been one of the league’s sharper fixtures.
The game lands at a moment when soccer in Washington state is set for a bigger stage, with the 2026 Men’s FIFA World Cup expected to be hosted in Seattle. For now, though, Sunday is about the present: a home crowd, a rivalry that has lasted since the league began, and a Reign team trying to use a friendly stretch at home before the calendar turns quiet again.
