Disney Cruise Line canceled the Disney Adventure sailing scheduled for May 7, 2026, after passengers had already boarded in Singapore and were told to prepare to disembark. The ship had remained in port while guests spent time aboard before the line pulled the trip days before its planned May 7-11 voyage.
In a letter to guests, Disney Cruise Line said it was unable to proceed with the Disney Adventure experience from May 7-11, 2026 as planned. A spokesperson said the ship remained in port in Singapore because of a mechanical issue that had not been resolved in time to start the voyage.
The company said it was working directly with affected travelers and offered full refunds, along with 50% off a future Disney cruise. Disney also arranged a complimentary hotel stay, said it would cover flight change fees and offered up to $500 per stateroom for other incidentals. The next Disney Adventure sailing, scheduled for May 11, was expected to take place as planned.
The cancellation lands at a sensitive moment for Disney Cruise Line, which delayed the ship’s launch by months before the Disney Adventure began welcoming passengers in March. The ship is the company’s eighth vessel and its biggest and most theme-park-like yet, built around seven immersive themed areas and three- and four-night cruises from the Marina Bay Cruise Centre in Singapore.
That ambition has collided with a rocky start. Passengers on the ship’s first voyages reported problems including missing mattresses and changes to the entertainment lineup, adding to the pressure on Disney’s push into the Asian cruise market. For travelers who boarded on May 7, the immediate question is not whether the ship can sail someday, but whether Disney can restore confidence before the May 11 departure goes ahead.
