Paramount Plus went down for some users on Saturday night, and the timing was brutal for fight fans. Downdetector showed nearly 100 reports of problems around 8:30 p.m. EST, less than an hour before UFC’s main card was scheduled to start.
The breakdown was not limited to one kind of glitch. About 40 percent of the reported problems involved video streaming, 32 percent were tied to the app and 18 percent were related to connecting to the server.
Saturday was not a great time for Paramount Plus to stumble. The outage landed shortly before one of the platform’s biggest live draws, when viewers would have expected the service to be ready without a hitch.
There was no timetable for when the issues would be resolved, leaving users waiting as the clock ticked toward the main card. For anyone counting on the stream, the problem was not abstract; it was happening at the exact moment the event was supposed to begin.
That is what made the outage matter most on Saturday night: not just that Paramount Plus had problems, but that it happened about 30 minutes before UFC’s main card was due to start.
