Brighton hosted Wolves at the Amex Stadium in Falmer, East Sussex, on Saturday in a Premier League Week 36 match that pulled both ends of the table into the same frame. Kickoff was set for 10am ET, with Peacock listed as both the TV and streaming option.
Brighton entered the match in eighth place with 50 points, two points off sixth place and three points clear of 12th-place Sunderland. Wolves arrived two points behind 19th-place Burnley, with Rob Edwards' side still looking to climb out of the Premier League basement before the closing stretch of the season.
The lineups underscored the contrast in what was at stake. Brighton named Bart Verbruggen in goal behind a back line of Kadioglu, Van Hecke, Dunk and De Cuyper, with Gross, Baleba and Hinshelwood in midfield and Minteh, Mitoma and Welbeck leading the attack. Wolves started Bentley, Lima, Mosquera, S. Bueno, T. Gomes, H. Bueno, Andre, J. Gomes, Mane, Armstrong and Hwang.
Brighton's bench included Steele, March, Rutter, Kostoulas, Milner, Boscaglia, Ayari, O’Riley and Veltman, while Wolves had Gracey, Doherty, Wolve, Orokodare, R. Gomes, Bellegard, Krejci, Tchatchoua and A. Gomes available. The team sheets reflected two clubs moving through the same late-season schedule but toward very different goals.
Brighton have been framed as a side with higher ambitions, still in the race for Europa League or Conference League qualification as the campaign tightens. Wolves, by contrast, are trying to avoid finishing bottom of the Premier League, and the numbers around their squad have been thin: only Santiago Bueno and Tolu Arokodare had more than three goal contributions this season, with four each, while Rodrigo Gomes, Santi Bueno and Arokodare shared the team lead with three goals apiece.
That gap gives Saturday's match a sharper edge than a standard Week 36 fixture. Brighton were chasing a European finish on home turf. Wolves were chasing daylight at the bottom. In the closing stretch of the season, the table can make the same kickoff feel like two different kinds of pressure.
