Alix Earle said the last bad idea she had was texting an ex at about 5 a.m. after going out, and the message went nowhere. She made the admission on the March 4 episode of The Drew Barrymore Show while promoting her skincare line, Reale Actives.
Earle, 30, said she was waiting for mac and cheese to warm up in the microwave when she sent the text, and her sister helped check the spelling while she looked at her phone with one eye. Barrymore called the moment “so human,” and Earle agreed without much defense. “Oh, terrible,” she said when asked how she felt after sending it. “We haven't talked since.”
She did not say which ex she meant in the clip, but the comment fits a run of public candor about a breakup that has stayed in view for months. Earle and Houston Texans wide receiver Braxton Berrios split in December 2025 after nearly two years together, and she later said it was “really hard” to see him in person again for the first time since October.

That came after she said she and her ex were in the same place at the Palm Tree Music Festival in Aspen, Colorado, and at a Palm Tree Pre-Party at Kemo Sabe hosted by SipMARGS. Earle said they did not say hi to each other at the first event and spoke briefly at the second. In a Feb. 25 TikTok, she said it was “really hard” to see him again, adding that she was “really emotional the first night.”
What stands out in her latest appearance is not the text itself but how little came of it. The exchange did not reopen contact, and Earle’s own description leaves no doubt that the impulse was more familiar than fruitful. She framed the split as a shift from closeness to distance, saying, “It's weird when you go from someone being like your best friend to being a stranger in the corner of the room,” and calling the whole thing “terrible.”

The TV appearance also lands as Earle continues to manage attention around her personal life while promoting Reale Actives. She has recently been linked in public conversation to Tom Brady, with reports placing them together in St. Barths around New Year’s and again over Super Bowl weekend, though representatives have not commented. A source said in early February that Earle and Brady were “hooking up.”
For now, the clearest answer to the question raised by her story is the one Earle gave herself: the 5 a.m. text was a mistake, and it did not change anything. She said plainly, “We haven't talked since.”
