Ciara Miller was back on the Met Gala carpet Monday night, and she made the return obvious before the cameras even started rolling. She attended the 2026 Met Gala as a red carpet host and fashion reporter, then posted a photo of her gown on Instagram on Monday, May 4 with the caption, “I’m back.”
The look was designed by Erik Charlotte and built around a white corset and puffy skirt, with a floral bodice, diamond necklace and floral hairpiece. Miller told E! News that her outfit was a nod to the Marie Antoinette rococo neoclassical style, and in an Instagram video she added, “And of course, we’re cinched in by this corset because we need to give no waist.”
The Met Gala remains one of fashion’s most watched stages, and Miller’s role this year put her on both sides of the spectacle: she arrived dressed for the carpet, then turned around to comment on the people walking it. In another Instagram video, she said getting ready to do that felt surreal, adding, “This is kind of surreal. This is insane. We’re getting ready to comment on people’s outfits, like what I was doing at home, I now get to do, live.”
Her morning began with an Instagram Story photo of breakfast in bed before she got ready for the red carpet. That small detail fit the larger picture of a night built around performance, styling and instant reaction, with Miller no longer just watching the Met Gala unfold but helping frame it for everyone else.
The same evening also brought Bronwyn Newport onto the carpet as a red carpet host and fashion reporter, giving the broadcast another distinct voice. Newport wore a Germanier gown described as neon green and white, hand-beaded and embroidered, and called it “Upcycled couture...from waste to wonder.” She also said, “I had other backups, but I was always hopeful that this was going to get on my body today. And I came in from filming, this dress came in from Europe, and we just met in New York City in a perfect storm of situations.”
Newport said the Met Gala theme was “Art” and added that “Mom and dad didn’t like many Met looks.” Together, her comments and Miller’s return underscored the same point: this year’s Met Gala was not just about the clothes on the carpet, but about who was there to explain them, and Miller was one of the people doing that work in real time.
