Two people were killed and three others were injured Tuesday in a shooting at a shopping center in Carrollton, Texas, after police said the victims were apparently meeting a 69-year-old man for a business transaction.
The shooting happened just before 10 a.m. at the K Towne Plaza at the intersection of State Highway 121 and West Hebron Parkway. Carrollton Police Chief Roberto Arrendondo said the man, identified as Seung Han Ho, fired shots. Ho was arrested a few miles away at the Koreatown shopping center after a brief foot chase.
Police urged people to avoid the area as they investigated the case, and video from SKY 4 showed a group of FBI agents assembled at the scene. Arrendondo said there is no ongoing threat, and he said the shooting was not a random act of violence or a hate crime.
Authorities have not disclosed the identities of the victims, and the question now is whether the business meeting that led them to the plaza also explains why the encounter turned deadly so quickly.
