Dante Fowler agrees to one-year deal with Seattle Seahawks

By Chris Lawson May 5, 2026

is signing with the on a one-year deal worth up to $5 million, according to a report Tuesday from for .

The move gives Seattle another proven pass rusher after it lost in free agency and came out of the draft without using any of its eight selections on an edge rusher. Fowler visited with the Super Bowl champions last month, and the timing now fits for a team that still needed help off the edge after the draft was over.

Fowler brings 10 NFL seasons and a long route through the league. He has 159 appearances and 58 starts for the , , Falcons, Cowboys and Commanders, and he recorded double-digit sacks as recently as 2024.

There is also a familiar thread in Seattle’s decision. Fowler overlapped with defensive coordinator in Atlanta and Dallas, which should make the transition smoother as he joins a defense that had to address a clear need after the offseason turnover.

The Seahawks did not find an edge rusher in the draft, but they did not leave the position untouched for long. Fowler now gets a chance in 2026 to step into a role that was open, on a deal that is short enough for Seattle and meaningful enough for him to matter right away.
