Original EGA and EGA signed their Mask vs Mask contract on this week’s Lucha Libre AAA, but the night did not end with ink on paper. Chad Gable’s Original EGA, facing Ludwig Kaiser’s EGA at Noche de los Grandes on May 30, used the signing to force in two extra conditions and then got jumped from behind when the Creed Brothers returned to AAA after several months.
AAA authority figures and backstage correspondent Andrea Bazarte were in the ring for the signing, which was supposed to settle the road to the Mask vs Mask clash. EGA signed without hesitation and without reading the contract, then tossed the pen into Original EGA’s face. Original EGA answered by saying “Shorty” and promising retribution at Noche de los Grandes.
Original EGA’s added conditions changed the temperature in the ring. He said there could be no physicality between the two Americanos before the match, or the attacker would be forced to demask. He also demanded that Bazarte’s AAA contract be suspended because she slapped him a few weeks ago when he attacked Ojitos de Huevo. Bazarte was then escorted from the ring by security and will be forced to leave AAA until after the event is over.
The friction turned into chaos when the Creed Brothers returned to AAA and attacked Original EGA from behind, sending him through the contract table before Rayo and Bravo ran them off. The source of the split is plain enough: the Creed Brothers have been in OGA’s corner, while the Americanos are backing EGA, and the signing made that alignment impossible to ignore.
What happens next is not subtle. The contract is signed, the May 30 match is set, and Original EGA has already put a demask threat on any pre-match attack while also forcing Bazarte out of AAA for the duration of the build. The only thing left is whether EGA can keep his side intact long enough to make it to Noche de los Grandes.
