Kim Kardashian Met Gala looks: from 2013 debut to 2024 corset gown

By Megan Foster May 5, 2026

Kim Kardashian's Met Gala history is a parade of looks that have kept the family in the conversation for more than a decade. She made her debut in 2013 in a floral gown while pregnant with her and Kanye West's daughter , and by the time the 2026 Met Gala was set to kick off on May 4, she had become a fixture at the Costume Institute benefit every year since.

The Kardashian-Jenner women have arrived in waves. first attended in 2014, in 2015, Kylie Jenner in 2016, and Khloe Kardashian and Kourtney Kardashian made their first appearances in 2022, with Kourtney walking the steps alongside Travis Barker. The family's repeated presence has made each appearance less of a debut than a new chapter in a long-running Met Gala run.

What keeps Kim at the center of the discussion is not just attendance but the scale of the choices. In 2024, she wore a Garden of Time-themed silver corset gown and later said on an episode of that it was definitely a performance piece. When Kris asked, “Are you ever gonna wear a dress to the Met where you can actually walk?” Kim answered, “That's just who I am. If you look good, it's all worth it.” That exchange captured the logic behind her Met Gala approach better than any red-carpet recap could.

Kylie has described the event in similarly maximal terms. On the way to her first Met Gala, she said, “I love the way people go all-out for the Met Ball,” and added, “I love when people take risks.” Her silver Balmain gown for the “Manus x Machina: Fashion in an Age of Technology” theme fit that view, but Kim's looks have carried the family story further, from pregnancy-era glamour in 2013 to a sculptural, high-drama statement in 2024.

The question is not whether the family will return. They always do. The answer already lies in the pattern: for Kim, the Met Gala is less about comfort than about spectacle, and that is exactly why her appearances keep landing long after the carpet is rolled away.
