The official Pokémon x Target 30th Anniversary collection hit digital shelves in the U.S. today, bringing more than 100 items to the retailer’s site in a rollout built for collectors and casual fans alike. The target pokémon collab spans apparel, accessories, home goods, food and beverages, and it includes items featuring Snorlax and Arcanine.
Joe Jonas starred in the campaign tied to the launch, giving the collection a pop-culture push as shoppers began browsing the drop online. Some local Target stores also had in-store merch land on May 2, giving early shoppers a first look before the national digital release.
The timing matters because the company says the collection is expected to sell out fast, and the first wave is not the last. An additional 40 products are scheduled to drop on June 6, extending the run of Pokémon-branded merchandise well past today’s launch.
That second wave sits against a broader in-store push already underway at several Target locations, where immersive experiences with giveaways and character meet-and-greets inspired by Pokémon are being hosted. For shoppers trying to catch the full release, the next date to watch is June 6, when the collection grows again and the scramble for the most popular items is likely to tighten.
