Jake Paul denies split rumors after viral video sparked cheating claims

By Tyler Brooks May 3, 2026

A video involving and spread rapidly across X this week, pushing a wave of breakup and cheating claims that the clip itself did not support. The viral caption said Paul accused Leerdam of cheating with his best friend and claimed he threw her engagement ring into the water.

The post also put a $500k price tag on the ring, but the footage did not show a clear moment, audio or any context that confirmed those accusations. There was no visible proof in the clip that a ring was thrown into the water at all.

The rumor cycle had already picked up speed after Dutch media personality claimed Paul had ended the engagement. “Jutta has been dumped by her fiancé Jake! He is completely done with her!” she wrote, while also alleging that he had taken back the ring and ended the relationship after dropping Leerdam off at home.

That version of events spread just as fans began noticing a brief lack of interaction between the couple on social media. Others pointed out that Leerdam was still liking Paul’s posts, which complicated the speculation but did nothing to settle it. None of the cheating claims were backed by verified evidence, and there was no official confirmation that the couple had split.

Paul then addressed the rumors directly, writing, “Seeing the Dutch media lying about my fiancé Jutta and I. There is so much false information being spread about Jutta in the past years. It needs to stop,”

What the episode shows is how quickly a thinly sourced clip can harden into a full narrative online. In this case, the video, the caption and the surrounding chatter all outran the facts, and Paul’s response made clear he was rejecting the breakup claims rather than confirming them.

For now, the only verified takeaway is narrower than the posts suggested: a viral video circulated, false claims followed and no confirmed evidence has emerged to show that Paul and Leerdam have split or that any cheating incident took place.
