has signed on for ’s long-brewing live-action remake of , and he will appear in a wholly original part written for the new version of the 2010 animated hit. The film is expected to start shooting next month in Spain.

was announced earlier this year to play Mother Gothel, giving the remake another familiar name as Disney keeps building out a project that has been in the works for some time. is directing the film, which revisits a title that brought in more than $590 million at the box office when the original Tangled was released in 2010.

Luna’s casting arrives after he was last seen last year in the series finale of .
