Duke landed a commitment from Loyola Maryland guard Jacob Theodosiou from the transfer portal on Saturday, adding a veteran scorer to Jon Scheyer’s roster after a 35-3 season that ended with both ACC titles. The 6-foot-4, 204-pound junior announced for the Blue Devils on May 2.
Theodosiou, a native of Waterloo, Ontario, Canada, is Duke’s third transfer portal addition. The Blue Devils also have additions from Wisconsin guard John Blackwell and Belmont forward Drew Scharnowski.
Theodosiou spent the last two seasons with Loyola Maryland after beginning his college career at Wyoming. During the 2025-26 season, he averaged 13.1 points, 3.6 rebounds and 2.7 assists while shooting 46.1% from the field, production that gives Duke another experienced perimeter option as it builds for next season.
The addition fits a roster that already includes Duke’s incoming recruiting class, which is rated at the top of the country, and a group of returnees that features Caleb Foster, Patrick Ngongba II, Dame Sarr, Sebastian Wilkins and Cayden Boozer. For Scheyer, Theodosiou brings another proven ballhandler into a program that lost little ground after sweeping the ACC regular season and tournament championships.
The bigger question now is how quickly Duke can blend the portal arrivals with its young core. The Blue Devils already have enough talent to defend their place at the top of the conference; Theodosiou gives them another piece with the kind of production that can matter in March.
