Lorenzo Lamas says he never imagined he would find lasting happiness with Heather Locklear more than four decades after they first crossed paths. The 68-year-old actor reflected on their long-ago connection after the pair appeared together at the Chiller Theatre Expo in Parsippany, New Jersey, on April 25, 2026.
They sat side by side at autograph and photo tables, both wearing matching black leather jackets, a public reunion that followed news of their confirmed romance. Lamas said the path to that point was not simple. “I mean, I’ve been through a lot of trial and error, and she is the most amazing woman that I think I’ve ever met,” he said.
Their history reaches back to 1983, when Locklear was starring in “Dynasty” and Lamas was appearing on “Falcon Crest.” They first met while posing for a “Playgirl” magazine cover, a spread that featured Locklear in a bikini and Lamas in a Speedo. Lamas later posted about the image, writing, “I cannot believe that this was 43 years ago! Side note, speedos on request only,” alongside the hashtags #HeatherLocklear #Playgirl #80s.
What makes the reunion land now is not just nostalgia but the way Lamas describes the years between then and now. He said his Christian faith changed how he thinks about love and life, adding that with Jesus Christ in his life, “you can accomplish anything.” He said there is no problem or event that can compare with the strength he feels when following Christ, and that even in the darkest times people always have the Lord to lean on.
Lamas said that faith was instilled in him early by his mother. “I've always believed that. My mom believed that. She's shared that with me as a kid, and it's kind of how I try to live my life,” he said. The answer to the question hanging over their reunion is plain in his own words: the romance with Locklear is the product of time, faith and a long stretch of trial and error, and he says he would not have expected it to come any other way.
