Ella Langley’s ‘Dandelion’ opens at No. 1 with career-best debut

By Olivia Spencer Apr 29, 2026

’s Dandelion opened at No. 1 on the 200 this week, giving the country singer her first chart-topping album and the biggest debut of her career. The set moved 169,000 equivalent album units in its first week, according to industry tallies.

The total included 39,000 album sales and 120,000 streaming units, with Luminate counting 130.46 million on-demand streams for the album’s songs. For Langley, it is a sharp turn from Hungover, which debuted at No. 80 in August 2024 and needed 17 weeks to reach the Billboard 200 top 40 before peaking at No. 20 the week before this article was published.

The new peak arrives as Langley’s reach has widened well beyond the country lane. Choosin’ Texas spent six weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 this year and was sitting at No. 2 on the US Top 50 when the album landed, while another Dandelion track, Be Here, was in the Spotify top 10. She also performed with at a stadium show on Saturday night, just days before their duet I Can’t Love You Anymore was due out on Friday, following the attention around the pair’s earlier tour stop and teaser.

Billboard said the debut was the best for a country album by a woman in two years, a benchmark last set by Beyonce’s Cowboy Carter. That matters because country albums filled four of the 10 spots in this week’s Billboard 200 top 10, with scoring her first No. 1 album with Cloud Nine in March. Morgan Wallen’s I’m the Problem held No. 2 with 83,000 units, BTS’ Arirang was No. 3 in its fourth week, ’s Swag jumped from No. 55 to No. 7 on a 160% gain to 43,000 equivalent album units, was No. 8, and a second Morgan Wallen album sat at No. 9.

The question for Langley now is not whether she can break through; she already has. The test is whether Dandelion marks the start of a sustained run that matches her streaming power with album sales, and this week’s chart says she is closer to that answer than ever.
