Oman beat Nepal A by 75 runs in the first one-day match on Wednesday at the Upper Mulpani Cricket Ground in Mulpani, taking a 1-0 lead in the two-match series. Chasing 281, Nepal A were bowled out for 210 in 44.4 overs after reaching 177/2 in 34.2 overs and then losing eight wickets for 33 runs.
Nepal A’s reply had started strongly. Anil Kumar Sah made 50 off 64 balls with six boundaries, while Trit Raj Das helped him add an 84-run opening partnership. Ishaan Pandey then scored 52 off 62 balls and shared 86 runs for the third wicket with Dev Khanal, who made 43 before falling in the 35th over. But once Khanal was out, the innings unraveled. Sandeep Jora made 11, and no other Nepal A batter reached double figures.
Oman’s total of 280/9 in 50 overs was built around Mujibur Ali’s 72 and Jatinder Singh’s 58. Hasir Dafedar added 46 off 41 balls, Vinayak Shukla made 25, and Jatinder Ramanandi finished unbeaten on 17. For Nepal A, Akash Chand took four wickets, while Santosh Yadav claimed two. Shahab Alam, Sher Malla and Rashid Khan picked up one wicket each.
The match was the opening game of the series, and the result leaves Nepal A with no room to waste a second chance. They face Oman again on Friday, when they will need to stop another collapse and find a way to turn early promise into a finished chase.
