and traded blows in a first-half sprint at 8pm BST, with and Ousmane Dembele both finding the net in a Champions League semi-final first leg that never settled. Bayern led through Olise before levelled, and Dembele then sent PSG ahead from the spot in stoppage time.

Olise had already gone close in the 32nd minute when his cross-cum-shot deflected off Matvei Safonov, struck the right-hand post and bounced back into the keeper’s arms. Three minutes later, Neves finished from eight yards out after a corner from the left to make it 1-1, before Désiré Doué drilled a low effort inches wide in the 37th minute. Kvaratskhelia then spun Stanišić on the halfway line in the 39th minute, though the move ended with Bayern recovering to block the chance.

The match kept swinging and, in the 43rd minute, Olise turned into space about 30 yards out and drove in Bayern’s second goal of the evening. PSG answered in first-half stoppage time after Hakimi’s cross led to a handball claim when the ball hit on the arm. The referee checked the pitchside screen after took a look, then awarded the penalty in the 45th minute +4, and Dembele rolled it into the bottom right.

PSG now carry the edge into the second leg, but Bayern have already shown they can break through in an instant, and the return meeting is set up to decide whether this wild contest was a warning or a missed chance.
