Karachi authorities on Monday announced a detailed traffic plan for the PSL Season 11 qualifier between Peshawar Zalmi and Islamabad United at National Stadium Karachi, setting out routes, parking and road restrictions for match traffic.
Sir Shah Suleman Road will remain open in both directions for regular commuters, while special parking zones have been designated for spectators heading to the game. Fans arriving from Karsaz have been told to use Habib Ibrahim Rehmatullah Road and pass under the stadium flyover to reach Sir Shah Suleman Road, with parking at the National Coaching Centre and China Ground. Those coming from Millennium can use Stadium Road and Pir Sibghatullah Shah Rashdi Road to reach parking areas near Sir Shah Suleman Road, while visitors from New Town should follow Stadium Road, cross Aga Khan Hospital and turn left toward the same parking sites.
Heavy vehicles will be barred from several key roads around the stadium, including the stretch from Sohrab Goth to Nipa, Liaquatabad No 10 to Hasan Square, PP Chowrangi toward University Road, Karsaz to Stadium, Millennium Mall to New Town and Stadium Signal to Hasan Square. Officials said the measures are intended to reduce congestion and give cricket fans a hassle-free experience at the crucial fixture.
The plan centers on a high-profile Pakistan Super League Season 11 qualifier and on keeping access moving around National Stadium Karachi while spectators fill the nearby parking sites. The real test on Monday will be whether the traffic restrictions and alternate routes are enough to keep one of the city’s busiest match days from snarling the roads around it.
