Weather App Down for iPhone Users as Apple Support Shows No Issue

iPhone users across the United States reported trouble loading the iOS Weather app on Tuesday afternoon, with some saying the app would not open at all and others seeing long delays before forecasts appeared.

Posts on X and Reddit quickly filled with complaints about the outage, and multiple editors in the United States found they could not get into the app. One editor said the app did load eventually, but only after about 10 seconds. Some users said they could not remember the app ever going down before.

As of publication, Apple’s online support page showed no issues with the Weather app, even as DownDetector showed sudden spikes for app and . DownDetector did not have a page dedicated to Weather, leaving the scale of the problem harder to pin down.

The standard Weather app is part of the daily routine for millions of iPhone users, so even a short outage lands loudly. Internet outages have become a common occurrence over the past year, but major outages inside the Apple ecosystem remain rare, which is why this one drew so much attention so quickly.

The unanswered question is whether the problem was a brief glitch limited to a subset of users or the start of something broader that Apple had not yet acknowledged. For now, the app was still misbehaving for enough people to make Weather App Down a live complaint, not just an isolated gripe.
