Hawaiian Airlines joins oneworld, linking Hawaii to nearly 1,000 destinations

By Ashley Turner Apr 25, 2026

became the newest member of the oneworld alliance today, giving the 96-year carrier its first entry into a major global airline group and connecting Hawai‘i to nearly 1,000 destinations in more than 170 countries.

The move means members can earn and redeem points on all oneworld airlines, while passengers can book across multiple platforms and receive elite status recognition and priority services. Members of loyalty programs from other oneworld carriers can now earn and redeem points and have their elite status recognized on Hawaiian Airlines flights starting today.

The addition matters because Hawaiian flies about 230 daily flights to, from and within the Hawaiian Islands and carried more than 11 million passengers in 2025. It also extends the airline’s reach across key routes in Asia, North America and the South Pacific, including oneworld hubs in Los Angeles, New York–JFK, Seattle, Sydney and Tokyo.

The alliance move also fits a broader shift in the carrier’s network strategy after joined oneworld in 2021. Hawaiian’s entry adds another bridge into the alliance’s 14 other airlines and is meant to support Hawai‘i’s tourism industry by making the islands easier to reach from more parts of the world.

There is one more sign the airline wants to make the partnership visible. Later this year, Hawaiian Airlines will introduce a special oneworld livery on an Airbus A330 wide-body aircraft, a public mark that the carrier is now part of the alliance it had never joined before.
