Shedeur Sanders: Browns’ Travis Hunter trade is complete after No. 24 pick

By Kevin Mitchell Apr 25, 2026

The have used the first-round pick they sent to Jacksonville in the deal, taking Texas A&M wide receiver with the No. 24 overall pick in the 2026 Draft. That move closes the loop on the trade that sent Hunter to the , and it gives Cleveland another young target to add to an offense it has been rebuilding piece by piece.

Cleveland had already built the rest of that draft class around the trade-down that brought extra capital. After moving back three spots, the Browns took defensive tackle at No. 5 overall, running back at No. 36 and running back at No. 126. By the time they were on the clock at No. 24, the best-known piece of the transaction was already in Jacksonville, and the deal was effectively complete because the Jaguars’ 2026 first-round pick had been used.

The trade now has a full football record on both sides. Jacksonville got Hunter, the No. 104 pick and the No. 200 pick, while Cleveland turned the return into Graham, Judkins, Sampson and Concepcion. Hunter’s rookie season in 2025 never fully got going. Injuries slowed him, and he was shut down after a torn ligament in his right knee. He finished with 28 catches for 298 yards and one touchdown on offense, plus three pass breakups on defense, with his best outing coming against the Los Angeles Rams when he posted eight catches for 101 yards and a touchdown.

Jacksonville at least got some early help from the other picks in the deal. Bhayshul Tuten, taken at No. 104, rushed for 307 yards and five touchdowns on 83 carries as a rookie. Rayuan Lane, selected at No. 200, played in all 17 games and finished with 12 tackles and a pass breakup. That does not change the bigger picture: the Browns traded down three spots, added more pieces and moved on from the Hunter chapter with a full 2026 class in hand.
