Zxavian Harris emerges as a fit for Bills’ biggest Day 3 need

By Stephanie Grant Apr 25, 2026

The still have work to do on the final day of the , and their biggest need is clear: defensive tackle. They open Day 3 with the first pick of the fourth round at No. 101 overall, giving them a chance to address a run defense that finished the 2025 season as the league’s fifth-worst.

One name to watch is , a massive interior defender who measured 6-foot-7 and 330 pounds and posted a 67 athleticism score, which ranked 15th among defensive tackles according to . Harris underwent foot surgery after the and did not take part in on-field workouts, giving him a slight injury red flag, but his size and testing profile make him one of the more intriguing options available when Buffalo goes on the clock.

The Bills are not starting from zero. They already used two defensive tackles and three defensive linemen overall in the first four rounds of last year’s draft, and they added nothing at defensive tackle near the start of free agency before the draft. That leaves the position exposed again, even after a 2025 campaign in which their run defense was a consistent problem.

was another name tied to Buffalo during the predraft process, and the Bills hosted him for a top-30 visit. He stood 6-foot-2 and weighed 293 pounds, and he finished the 2025 campaign with seven tackles for loss and 3.5 sacks. He offers a different build and skill set than Harris, but both fit the same basic conclusion: the Bills are searching for interior help, and they need it now.

That makes the fourth-round opener a meaningful test of how aggressively Buffalo wants to fix the middle of its defense. If the Bills pass again, they will be betting they can solve a glaring roster hole later. If they choose Harris or another tackle, they can finally start giving a leaky run defense a different answer.
