Jadon Canady’s Oregon season boosts his stock for the 2026 NFL Draft

spent his final college season in Eugene, and it may have been the stretch that carried him from a transfer with promise to a likely Day 3 pick in the 2026 NFL Draft. The defensive back finished 2025 with 39 tackles, a forced fumble, six pass deflections and two interceptions.

Canady, who began his career at Tulane before two years at Ole Miss, then moved to Oregon for one season, was one of the players in line to hear his name called on the draft’s third day. He also ranked in the top 10 in Pro Football Focus’ cornerback grading last season, a sign that his production matched the eye test.

At Oregon, Canady mainly worked at nickel, where he repeatedly drew slot matchups against receivers such as former USC wideout . He also spent time at free safety, and that mix of responsibilities is part of why evaluators view him as more likely to settle in as a nickelback at the next level.

The path matters because Canady’s final season came after earlier stops at Tulane and Ole Miss, giving him a broad college resume before he reached the NFL stage. At 5-11, he does not fit every team’s prototype for a boundary corner, but his production in Eugene gave him a clearer role and a stronger case heading into the draft.

The question now is not whether Canady belongs in the draft conversation, but how early on Day 3 a team decides his versatility is worth the pick.
