Tv Shows Canceled In 2026: CBS Late-Night, Comedy And Fan Favorites End

By Olivia Spencer Apr 24, 2026

Television is heading into 2026 with a long list of goodbyes, and some of the biggest are coming from CBS. The Late Show With will wrap up in , ending an 11-season run that has made Stephen Colbert one of the network’s most familiar late-night voices.

News of the cancellation landed in , and the end date gives viewers a little more than a year to watch the show finish on its own terms. At least two CBS shows are also set to end in May 2026, including , which CBS had already flagged as a final season before it even premiered.

That matters because these are not isolated changes. CBS’s Monday nights will also lose the usual hour of comedy in the fall of 2026, signaling a broader shift in the network’s schedule after years of leaning on repeatable, familiar franchises. The Neighborhood has been on CBS for eight seasons, and its end closes a run that helped anchor the network’s comedy lineup.

Another cancellation has taken longer to settle. Law & Order: Organized Crime, the streaming version of the Law & Order franchise built around gritty, dark storylines, had its fate revealed by Peacock after nearly a year, adding to the sense that 2026 is becoming a cleanup year for established titles rather than a launchpad for new ones.

Hallmark Channel is losing one of its fan favorites too. The series centered on a pond on the Landrys’ property that lets family members travel through time is also signing off, another sign that even shows with dedicated audiences are not being kept alive indefinitely. The pattern across networks is plain: shows cannot last forever, and the ones ending in 2026 are being treated as the natural end points of long runs, not surprise cancellations. For viewers, the question is no longer whether these series will disappear. It is how many more familiar slots will be gone by the time fall 2026 arrives.
