Bravo said Friday morning that it has launched a full investigation after audio from the Summer House reunion leaked online not long after the special was taped Thursday in New York City. The leaked summer house reunion footage quickly spread on social media and captured Amanda Batula, West Wilson and Ciara Miller arguing about events tied to Batula and Wilson’s relationship.
The network said the leak was a serious breach of trust and showed a clear lack of respect for the cast, crew and the integrity of production. Bravo added that it will take appropriate action based on what it finds.
The timing made the leak especially sensitive. Batula and Wilson confirmed their relationship on March 31 after a month of rumors, but Bravo’s cameras were not rolling when they did it. The current season is the 10th season of Summer House, and the reunion is meant to give the full cast a chance to address the season’s off-camera fallout in one sitting.
Bravo reunions are usually among the tightest sets on reality television, closed to almost everyone except the cast, production and glam. The format is built to keep the conversation contained until air, with the whole cast seated on two couches, and the leak raised immediate speculation online that it may have come from inside the cast itself.
Andy Cohen also condemned the circulation of the audio, writing that people laid their souls out emotionally for ten hours yesterday and that it was disgusting and illegal for someone to leak or distribute it. He said it was disrespectful to the work and tears the cast put in, urged viewers to let the season play out and added that audiences would see it all in due time. Bravo’s investigation now determines whether the breach is traced to someone close to the production, and how far the network is willing to go once it knows.
