Cam Skattebo is listed as the New York Giants’ number one running back for the 2026 NFL season, with Tyrone Tracy Jr. right behind him on the depth chart. Devin Singletary remains on the roster, along with Eric Gray and Dante Miller, but the top line in the room belongs to Skattebo for now.
That gives the Giants a young, hungry backfield heading into 2026, but the group is not fixed in place. If Jeremiyah Love falls to number five in the 2026 NFL Draft, the Giants could consider taking him and then opening trade talks for some of the other names in the room.
The bigger picture is that the Giants’ first picks should be aimed at defense, not offense, after they traded away Dexter Lawrence, their best defensive player. That move shifts the urgency in the draft and makes it more likely the early selections go to the side of the ball that now needs the most help.
Even with that focus, the Giants are not ruling out a roster move that would add another familiar face after the draft. A reunion with Odell Beckham Jr. is possible, which would add another layer to a roster that could look very different by the time the summer turns into camp.
For now, though, the clearest answer in the Giants’ backfield is the one at the top of the chart: cam skattebo is first, Tracy is second, and everything else may depend on how the draft board falls.
