added a commitment from today, bringing in the 6-foot-10, 245-pound big man after two straight seasons cut short by injuries.

Reed, a former top-100 prospect, becomes the second player in Michigan’s incoming transfer class alongside transfer . The addition gives the Wolverines another interior option with experience at a major program, even if that experience has been limited by the injuries that ended his last two seasons.

Reed started for LSU in 2023-24 and averaged 7.9 points and 4.1 rebounds per game, a stretch that showed the production that made him one of the better recruits in his class. But he has not been able to build on it: he played eight games in 2024-25 before an ACL injury ended that season, then appeared in six games in 2025-26 before an Achilles injury shut him down again.

For Michigan, the move is a bet on talent and upside as much as health. Reed brings size and a track record from LSU, but the question now is whether he can stay on the floor long enough to give the Wolverines the frontcourt help they are counting on.
