After the clip of her undergoing an intense procedure to relieve jaw tension spread last month, some viewers accused her of faking the sobs because the camera was rolling. In a livestream, Rimes pushed back and said people were commenting on the post and saying, “Of course the camera was on, she was gonna cry.”
“I can act, but I am not that good. I am not Meryl Streep,” she said, adding that the reaction was “just real” and that, as she has gotten older, she has tried to be more honest. “People finally get to see me, and there’s no pretense about that,” Rimes said.
The video centered on a jaw release, or TMJ-related, procedure aimed at relieving tension. It also drew a sharper response from Brandi Glanville, who has long had a public connection to Rimes through Eddie Cibrian. Two decades ago, Glanville and Cibrian divorced after his affair with Rimes, and Cibrian later married Rimes.
Glanville addressed the clip on her podcast and said, “We did see LeAnn Rimes in the news today. I don’t understand why I saw it,” before adding, “I just don’t know why you share that.” James Maas said on the podcast that Rimes was sharing all of her health journey at the moment, prompting Glanville to answer, “Oh, like me,” and then, “So weird.”
The episode lands in a place where personal health, public scrutiny and old resentments overlap. Rimes is trying to explain a vulnerable moment as something unvarnished, while Glanville’s reaction shows how quickly a health video can be read through an old and still unresolved relationship.
