Ufl Trades Matt Corral in two-team quarterback swap involving four clubs

By Stephanie Grant Apr 20, 2026

The on April 19, 2026, announced two quarterback trades involving four teams, with the sending and to the for . In a separate deal, the D.C. Defenders landed from the Louisville Kings for .

Corral had started the first four games for Birmingham this season and finished with 71 completions on 110 attempts for 768 yards, five touchdowns and four interceptions. He also ran seven times for nine yards. Thompson-Robinson, who appeared in one game for Orlando this season, gives Birmingham another option at quarterback after the club used Corral as its starter through the opening month.

The trade closes a long run for Corral in Birmingham. He spent both the 2024 and 2025 seasons with the Stallions after earlier stops with the Carolina Panthers, New England Patriots and Minnesota Vikings. The Panthers drafted him in the third round out of Ole Miss, and his return to the Stallions this year had given the team a familiar name behind center before the swap.

Bledsoe also leaves after a productive start to the year. He had 13 tackles, one sack and one tackle for loss in four games for Birmingham this season, building on a 2025 season with the Dallas Renegades in which he recorded 17 tackles and 2.5 sacks. The move shows Birmingham willing to pay with both a quarterback and a front-seven piece to get Thompson-Robinson, who was selected by Orlando in the January UFL Draft.

The second trade adds to the day’s quarterback movement across the league. Bean completed 58 of 122 passes for 819 yards with four touchdowns and one interception through four games with Louisville this season, while also rushing for 63 yards on 16 carries. DiLiello, who appeared in seven games over the last two seasons with the Defenders, played in one game this season after finishing 2025 with 26 completions on 56 attempts, two touchdowns and 73 rushing yards on 17 carries. The UFL also said Hakeem Butler, Derick Roberson and Jaden Shirden earned Player of the Week honors after standout Week Three performances.

For Birmingham, the swap marks a clear break from the quarterback it had leaned on through the first four weeks and signals a fresh turn in a season that has already moved quickly. The bigger question now is how soon Thompson-Robinson is ready to take over and whether the Stallions' other moves today prove enough to keep them steady.
