The Bear Season 5 is now in production, FX Networks said in January 2026, setting the stage for the last run of the Emmy-winning restaurant drama. Jamie Lee Curtis then revealed in March 2026 that the show had “finished strong” in an Instagram post alongside Abby Elliott.
Curtis wrote that the cast and crew had completed “the story of this extraordinary family” created by Christopher Storer and said she got to finish it out with her “baby Berzatto bear.” The news lands after FX renewed the series for a fifth season on July 1, 2025 and confirmed that the upcoming season will serve as the show’s final chapter.
Jeremy Allen White returns as Carmen “Carmy” Berzatto, with Ebon Moss-Bachrach, Ayo Edebiri, Lionel Boyce, Liza Colon-Zayas, Abby Elliott, Matty Matheson and Edwin Lee Gibson also in the cast. Season 5 will debut on Hulu and internationally on Disney+ later in 2026.
The timing matters because the fourth season ended with Carmy telling Syd and Richie that he was leaving the restaurant and signing over his ownership stake, a break that gave the series a clear turn into its closing stretch. Season 4 debuted on Hulu on June 25, 2025, and the show has already collected 21 Primetime Emmy Awards since launching in 2022, including wins for Outstanding Comedy Series in 2023 and Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series for White.
That record helps explain why the final season carries more weight than a routine renewal. The Bear has moved from a breakout hit to one of television’s most decorated comedies in just a few years, and the last chapter now has to answer the question the finale set up: what becomes of the restaurant, and of Carmy, after he walks away from both?
