Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively weigh UK move amid backlash and legal fallout

and have considered moving to the UK as they try to get away from the backlash that has followed them in America. The possible relocation has also been described as an effort to help revive Lively’s reputation after months of legal and public fallout.

An insider said Lively, 38, is exhausted by it. “I think she’s just so tired,” the person said. “This has taken a lot out of her.” The source added, “She’s just not always there when you talk to her.” Reynolds, 49, and Lively have been married for 12 years and have four children, making any move a major family decision as much as a public one.

The strain traces back to December 31, 2024, when Lively sued for sexual harassment and for orchestrating a smear campaign against her. Soon after, published a 4,000-word exposé based on many of her claims. Baldoni was then dropped by and , before filing a $400 million countersuit against Lively and Reynolds. A trial was first set for March 9, 2026, then pushed to May 18, before Baldoni’s case was dismissed in its entirety in June 2025.

The fight did not end there. Settlement talks in December failed, and unsealed text messages released in January showed Lively asking to endorse a revised version of the script she was proposing. Swift allegedly replied, “I’ll do anything for you!!” Other messages allegedly showed the women plotting to help Lively usurp Baldoni, while Swift was also subpoenaed before that was dropped days later.

That is the tension in the story now: Lively and Reynolds have the money and the fame to leave, with a combined net worth put at around $600 million, but they cannot simply outrun a dispute that has already moved through lawsuits, countersuits, subpoenas and a public archive of evidence built by Baldoni’s team. Lively also hired crisis PR veteran after her publicist Leslie Sloane wanted out. If they do go, it would not be a retreat from the fight so much as an admission that the fight has already changed their lives.
