Addison Rae turns Coachella 2026 gown into a dramatic micro mini

By Brandon Hayes Apr 19, 2026

stepped onto the Coachella stage in a reworked creation that looked, at first glance, like a voluminous couture gown. Then the dress gave way to a micro minidress hidden beneath layers of smoky grey tulle, with sleek black knee-high boots grounding the whole look as she opened her set with “Diet Pepsi.”

The stage behind her framed the moment in candy-pink baroque style, matching a performance that was built to read as theatrical from the first second. The look was not subtle. It was cut down and rebuilt from an original gown into a micro mini while keeping the exaggerated tulle drama that made it feel like a fashion stunt as much as a concert outfit.

That matters because Coachella has become one of the few stages where a pop set and a runway moment can land at the same time, and Addison Rae used both. The outfit first appeared to be the kind of sweeping gown that might have belonged on a formal carpet, but the reveal turned it into something sharper, shorter and more deliberate once the layers were read correctly.

The reworked Miss Claire Sullivan piece also fits the way Rae has been presented around the festival, with rehearsal images teasing a Fame & Glory show before she took the stage. By the time she opened with “Diet Pepsi,” the clothes had already done part of the storytelling: a gown, essentially destroyed and rebuilt into a micro minidress, turned into a statement about scale, performance and control.

The question was never whether the outfit would draw attention. It was whether it would hold together as more than a costume change with a bigger budget, and it did. The look answered that in real time: this was fashion made for spectacle, and Addison Rae wore it like she knew the audience was watching every layer come off.
