Becky Lynch stepped into MJF’s postmatch meltdown with a public offer of help after he lost the AEW World Title to Darby Allin on the April 15, 2026 episode of AEW Dynamite. Lynch replied on Instagram with a promise to put him in contact with “the BEST lawyers!” after MJF blasted a string of names for the defeat.
The loss came fast and hard. MJF said before the match that he was not even aware he had a title defense that night, then was forced to fight Allin because he would have lost the championship if he did not. Allin ended the bout in less than five minutes, hitting MJF with a Scorpion Death Drop, four Coffin Drops and finally a headlock pin to become the new AEW World Champion.
Afterward, MJF posted on Instagram and blamed Tony Khan, Bryan Danielson, referee Aubrey Edwards, Renee Paquette and Allin for the outcome. Lynch’s response landed as something more than a friendly note. Pro wrestling is built on rivalry, but this exchange reached beyond the ring, especially because Lynch works in WWE while MJF is one of AEW’s most visible stars.
The two also know each other from working together on Happy Gilmore 2, which gives the exchange a personal edge that most wrestling crossovers never have. MJF had already praised Lynch months earlier, saying, “If you don’t like Becky Lynch, go f*ck yourself.” Lynch later said she expected him to be difficult in real life but found him very kind and talented. For now, MJF’s title loss is settled. The odd part is that the public conversation around it may be just getting started.
