By Kevin Mitchell Apr 18, 2026

Auburn’s 2026 football team took the field for the first time Saturday afternoon, and the first public spring game under new coach came with no admission charge. A-Day 2026 began at 2 p.m. CT at Jordan-Hare Stadium in Auburn, Alabama, giving fans a first look at the Tigers in orange and blue.

The crowd saw returning defenders and , along with wearing Auburn colors for the first time. Brown’s first throw went six yards to transfer , Jeremiah Cobb added a nine-yard rush, and Brown later found Johnson again for a nine-yard pass.

Golesh, trying to settle a new roster in front of people for the first time, said the setting mattered as much as the snaps. “It’s awesome for our kids to play in an environment that is different,” he said, adding that “our players, it will be big for them in an environment where people are around” and that for “half this team, including the coaches, it’s the first time in the stadium in front of people.”

The game offered more than a spring workout. It was Auburn’s first public chance to show how Golesh’s team is taking shape, and to let fans see both returning players and newcomers before the season begins. Brown came onto the field in an orange non-contact jersey after warming up in blue, while every other quarterback wore orange non-contact jerseys for A-Day.

There was still a jolt of spring-game chaos in the middle of it all. A false start penalty left Auburn needing 15 yards to convert, a reminder that even in a free showcase built for optimism, this team is still learning the details that decide drives, games and eventually the season.
